The mystery of rescheduled games hanging in the balance has been solved.
The National Hockey League released a revised schedule for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday, realigning seven Seattle Kraken games that have been postponed in conjunction with COVID-19 protocol issues or travel in association with postponed games.
February got a lot busier for the Kraken, along with the rest of the league, who originally had a break between Feb. 2-23 to account for NHL player participation in the Winter Olympics. But the NHL withdrew player participation from the upcoming Olympics in December amidst a surge in COVID-19 cases.
“We are profoundly grateful to our fans for their support and understanding during a challenging time and to our Clubs, the NHL Players’ Association and the Players for their cooperation in a rescheduling of unprecedented logistical complexity,” said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly in a league statement.
Seven games will be rescheduled during the 21-day block in February, with two additional games realigned either in March or April.
Tickets and booked parking for rescheduled Kraken home games will valid for each new date.
Below are the rescheduled Kraken games (all times PT):
·Feb. 9 vs. Arizona, 7pm (previously Dec. 21)
·Feb. 11 at Anaheim, 7pm (previously Mar. 25)
·Feb. 14 vs. Toronto, 6pm (previously Dec. 19)
·Feb. 17 at Winnipeg, 5pm (previously Jan. 8)
·Feb. 19 at Calgary, 7pm (previously Dec. 23)
·Feb. 21 at Vancouver, 7pm (previously Dec. 27)
·Feb. 22 vs. New York Islanders, 7pm (previously Jan. 4)
·Mar. 22 at Arizona, 7pm (previously Mar. 23)
·Apr. 18 vs. Ottawa, 7pm (previously Jan. 6)
The Kraken will maintain 14 sets of back-to-back games on the schedule, and have nine more blocks of those games for the remainder of the season.
The league revised dates for 98 games that were postponed over a two month period from November through January, and 23 other changes to games to make room for postponed games.
The completion of the NHL’s regular season will remain on schedule for Friday, Apr. 29.
