James Paxton traded to the New York Yankees!

The Big Maple is no more... At least in Seattle. Rumors were swirling for weeks about a trade to the New York Yankees involving the big lefty starter James Paxton and today the rumors became true today. The Mariners traded James Paxton to the New York Yankees in exchange for three high level prospects, LH Justus Sheffield, RH Erik Swanson , and OF Dom Thompson-Williams. The Yankees receive Paxton with still two years of arbitration control left. Yankees prospect, Sheffield is considered one of the best prospects in New York's farm system.

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto's initial comments after the trade became official.

One of the greatest moments in Paxton's career as a Mariner, was the no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 8, 2018.

And who could forget about the bald eagle landing on Paxton on April 5, 2018 during the National Anthem.
