Crowds will return in full force to Lumen Field for the 2021 Seattle Seahawks season.

After a year of empty stadiums amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seahawks announced on Tuesday they have received approval from the NFL and local health and government officials to fully open the stadium for the upcoming season.

"Through continued collaboration with the NFL, state and local public health and government officials, the Seahawks have received approval to host fans in full capacity at Lumen Field for the 2021 season," the team said in a statement. "In following Washington state's reopening guidelines for outdoor sporting events, the Seahawks will not require fans to prove vaccination status and masks will not be required for vaccinated fans."

The plan is also to welcome fans back to training camp next month with plans expected to be announced mid-July.

The NFL is expanding to a 17-game regular season this year with a reduced three-game preseason. The Seahawks will still host 10 games at Lumen Field this fall with eight regular season games and two preseason games. The regular season opener for the team comes against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 on Sept. 19. The preseason home opener is on Aug. 21 against the Denver Broncos.
