Sounders Drop to 3rd in West with 3-1 Loss

Sounders supporters cannot be happy about the results on Sunday night. An hour after Seattle lost 3-1 in Colorado, the Portland Timbers beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0, leap-frogging both the Rave Green and Sporting Kansas City for first place in the Western Conference.

With Major League Soccer switching standings to a points-per-game system, the Sounders, who sit in first place when the night started, fell below Kansas City with their loss. The Timbers win then sunk Seattle further. From here, the club will now take aim at the Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday evening in Carson, California. That match kicks off at 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 Pre-Match Show on 950 KJR.

Sunday's Sounders loss featured one lone goal score by Jordan Morris in the 22nd minute, assisted by Cristian Roldan and Kelvin Leerdam, sandwiched between three Rapids goals scored by Andre Shinyashiki in the 11th minute, Keegan Rosenberry in the 42nd and Cole Bassett in the 75th.

Watch the high -and low- lights from the loss, plus hear more match analysis on KJR's Postgame Show from Pete Fewing and Jackson Felts, both below.
