Josh Gordon, C.J. Prosise among inactives for Seahawks

Los Angeles Rams v Seattle Seahawks

SEATTLE -- Running back C.J. Prosise and newly acquired wide receiver Josh Gordon are among the Seahawks' inactives for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Prosise was the one relatively unknown inactive heading into Sunday's pregame workout. Gordon has not had a chance to practice with the team after being claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots on Friday and will work in with the team next week. Fellow receivers John Ursua and Gary Jennings have been inactive most weeks as Seattle usually has no more than five receivers active for game day.

Injuries were the reason for the next three inactive players: defensive end Quinton Jefferson and safeties Lano Hill and Quandre Diggs. All three were listed as doubtful on Friday due to oblique, elbow and hamstring injuries, respectively.

That left one more player to sit down for Sunday's game. With Rashaad Penny now back to full strength after battling a hamstring injury for several weeks, the Seahawks could afford to make Prosise inactive. Travis Homer would serve as the depth option in the backfield should injuries sideline Chris Carson and Penny.

The Buccaneers will be without tight end O.J. Howard, who was declared out on Friday due to a hamstring injury. The rest of Tampa Bay's inactives are healthy scratches.

Defensive back M.J. Stewart, center Nate Trewyn, tackle Jerald Hawkins, defensive lineman Patrick O'Connor, tight end Jordan Leggett and former Seahawks wide receiver Amara Darboh are the remaining six inactives for the Buccaneers.
