Nazair Jones among inactive vs. Broncos, Tre Flowers set to start at RCB

San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks

DENVER -- The Seahawks will be without K.J. Wright and D.J. Fluker due to injuries against the Denver Broncos. The five remaining inactives are healthy scratches.

Wright (knee) and Fluker (hamstring) were ruled out on Friday. Wright is recovering from a surgery on his knee the final week of the preseason and Fluker injured his hamstring in Minnesota in the team's third preseason game.

Shquem Griffin is starting in place of Wright at weak-side linebacker while J.R. Sweezy is starting for Fluker at right guard.

Running back Mike Davis, defensive tackle Nazair Jones and defensive tackle Poona Ford are all inactive as well. Newly acquired safety Shalom Luani and guard Jordan Simmons are also inactive.

The most curious scratch may be Jones. The 2017 third-round pick isn't suiting up against the Broncos on Sunday. However, there likely isn't as much to be ready into that decision.

Jarran Reed, Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen have been listed as the top three tackles on the depth chart. Meanwhile, Quinton Jefferson can also play tackle in addition to his standard spot at defensive end. The decision to keep Jefferson active instead is likely just one of positional flexibility.

With Davis inactive, Seattle is going with Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and C.J. Prosise as its three running backs active against the Broncos.

With Dontae Johnson being put on injured reserve on Saturday, it's left Seattle thin at cornerback. The Seahawks added Akeem King from the practice squad to offset the move of Johnson to injured reserve.

Rookie Tre Flowers is working at right cornerback in pregame warmups and appears to be set to start in place of Johnson and Byron Maxwell, who were both placed on injured reserve.
