Adam Silver pours cold water on NBA expansion

Tomorrow, all eyes will be on Michael Porter Jr. and DeAndre Ayton for the NBA Draft. It's been more than 10 years since the Seattle SuperSonics left Seattle to become the Oklahoma City Thunder. Since that time, sports fans in Seattle continue to wonder how much longer they will have to wait for the Sonics to return.

Long-time NBA writer for ESPN and NBA Insider, Kevin Pelton, joined the Dave "Softy" Mahler and Dick Fain show to provide insight on the top prospects in the NBA Draft, including Porter Jr. and Ayton, but also to discuss NBA expansion to Seattle.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver last spoke on NBA expansion at the NBA Finals, but Pelton said there is not a lot of optimism right now on expansion. Pelton added that Commissioner Silver continues to "pour cold water," regarding expansion over the next few years, but didn't rule out expansion to Mexico City.

Former Sonics Play-by-Play and current voice of the Utah Jazz, David Locke, joined The Ian Furness Show several months ago and said Mexico City, however, could lead to expansion in Seattle.
