SEATTLE -- Cornerback Richard Sherman is active and will start against the San Francisco 49ers after being called a game-time decision due to a hamstring strain on Friday.
However, it's one of the players who will not play against the 49ers that may be the most interesting.
Running back Eddie Lacy is a healthy scratch and one of seven inactives for Seattle's home opener against the 49ers. Lacy carried five times for just three yards in last week's game against the Green Bay Packers. With Thomas Rawls healthy and back in the lineup this week, Lacy was the one who apparently drew the short straw among the running back group.
Lacy signed with the Seahawks as a free agent this offseason after spending the first four years of his career in Green Bay.
Linebacker Terence Garvin is the only player out due to injury. Garvin sustained a shoulder injury in last week's game in Green Bay and was unable to practice this week. Michael Wilhoite - returning from a calf injury - will get the starting reps at strong-side linebacker instead.
Also inactive for the Seahawks were running back J.D. McKissic, safety Tedric Thompson, guard Jordan Roos, guard/tackle Oday Aboushi and tackle Isaiah Battle.
For the 49ers, wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, defensive back Lorenzo Jerome, linebacker Pita Taumoepenu, linebacker Reuben Foster, offensive lineman Erik Magnuson and defensive tackle Xavier Cooper are inactive.
