Seahawks trade Cassisus Marsh to NE, acquire Isaiah Battle from KC

Wild Card Round - Detroit Lions v Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks continue to make trades as the deadline for cutting their roster to 53 players has come and gone.

While the team has yet to announce their roster cuts, they continued to make deals to alter their roster.

After making three trades on Friday involving the New York Jets, New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings, the Seahawks made deals with the Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

The Chiefs announced they had traded offensive lineman Isaiah Battle to the Seahawks for a conditional 2018 draft pick. Meanwhile, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Seattle traded defensive end Cassius Marsh to the Patriots in exchange for fifth- and seventh-round picks. The Patriots confirmed the trade without specifying the picks involved.

The seventh-round pick acquired from New England was the very same pick Seattle sent to the Patriots on Friday for cornerback Justin Coleman. So, in total, Seattle traded Marsh to the Patriots for Coleman and a fifth-round pick.

Marsh appeared in 37 games with Seattle over the last three seasons after being a fourth-round pick in 2014. He was coming off his best season, recording 22 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games last season. He was set to be a free agent after this season.

Battle was a fifth-round selection in the supplemental draft by the St. Louis Rams in 2015. Battle mostly spent time on the practice squad of the Rams in his two seasons with the team. He signed with the Chiefs this offseason and played in all four preseason games for Kansas City. He has not played in a regular season game.

To recap all the moves:

No. 1 Seahawks acquire CB Justin Coleman from the Patriots for a seventh-round pick.

No. 2 Seahawks acquire DT Sheldon Richardson and a seventh-round pick from the Jets in exchange for WR Jermaine Kearse, a second-round pick and seventh-round pick.

No. 3 Seahawks trade CB Tramaine Brock to the Vikings in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

No. 4 Seahawks trade DE Cassius Marsh to the Patriots in exchange for a fifth- and seventh-round pick.

No. 5 Seahawks acquired OL Isaiah Battle from Chiefs in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
