Seahawks backup QB Trevone Boykin arrested in Dallas

Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested in Dallas on marijuana possession and public intoxication charges.

According to FOX 4 in Dallas, Boykin, 23, was a passenger in a vehicle that careened into a Dallas bar in the early Monday morning hours. The accident injured eight people -- seven on the sidewalk and a bartender inside the building.

The Seahawks released a statement on the incident on Monday morning:

"We are aware of the situation involving Trevone Boykin. We are still gathering information and are disappointed."

Boykin appeared in five games for Seattle last season as the backup to Russell Wilson. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 145 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Boykin pleaded no contest last year to charges of resisting arrest stemming from a New Year's Eve incident prior to the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. Boykin was given a year's probation last June and fined $1,500 over the incident. He also was imposed with 80 hours of community service and required to take an anger management course.

The latest incident could violate terms of his probation and could lead to discipline by the NFL as well.
