At Monday's MTR Western Sports Star of the Year Awards, the story of the Seattle Sounders coming back from near the bottom of the Western Conference in August to winning the MLS Cup in December won "Story of the Year."
The story includes the worst start in team history, parting ways with the only Head Coach the organization had ever known, the club being taken over by Brian Schmetzer, a Seattle native, and being led to the Championship by Rookie of the Year Jordan Morris, who is from Mercer Island.
