On Tuesday, Furness and Puckett were at Sport Restaurant broadcasting their show during the U.S. soccer match against Belgium. Unfortunately, the U.S. lost, but the Mariners continue to win and that dominated the talk on the show.
The guys caught up with Mariners pitching coach Rick Waits to talk about the performance of Taijuan Walker the night before. Toward the end of the interview the attention turned toward left hander Roenis Elias, who's been having an outstanding year. Waits was asked if Elias, who's thrown 104 innings this year, would be limited come the end of August and at the start of September because he may be on an innings limit.
Waits seemed confident that Elias would not have to be shutdown or even limited because he's built up his innings over the last few years. In fact, Waits said that he could see a situation where Elias pitches around 180-190 innings this year.
