Seattle, Wash. – April 19, 2013 – Sports Radio KJR 950AM and 102.9FM, Seattle’s live and local sports station, announced today that former Seattle Seahawk Head Coach, Mike Holmgren, will join its on-air team as a NFL expert and regular contributor.  Holmgren will join the station beginning Monday, April 22, 2013.

Holmgren will be on-air weekdays during the following shows:

  • Mondays: “Mitch in the Morning” from 9-9:30 a.m. PST
  • Tuesdays:  “Elise and Jerry” at 11:00 a.m. PST
  • Wednesdays: “Ian Furness and Jason Puckett” at 2:00 p.m. PST
  • Thursdays: “Softy” from 4-4:30 p.m. PST

Holmgren returned to the Pacific Northwest after serving most recently as the President of the Cleveland Browns.  Prior to that, Holmgren was the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks from 1999-2008. He guided the club to a 10-year regular season record of 86-74 (.538), giving him the most victories of any coach in that franchise’s history.   His crowning achievement in Seattle occurred in 2005, when the Seahawks posted a regular season record of 13-3, captured the NFC West title and went on to play in Super Bowl XL before falling to Pittsburgh, 21-10.  In Holmgren’s 10 seasons at the helm of the Seahawks, the club advanced to the playoffs on six occasions, two more times than they did in the previous 23 years of existence.

“We are so excited to have Mike Holmgren join our team at Sports Radio KJR,” said Rich Moore, Sports Radio KJR Program Director.   “As a former coach he has a great connection with the fans here in Seattle and his football mind and personality will really enhance our comprehensive football coverage."
