I think all of us agree that we are going to miss Big Red Bryant. Reports over the weekend state that the Seahawks will release Bryant and the team will save $5.5 million dollars in cap space.
Since signing his new contract a few years ago (5 years $35 million) Bryant's production has dropped off the past two years. When looking ahead, based on Bryant's production and lack of playing time this past season, there is probably no way to justify the salary for Bryant.
With that said, I love Bryant and it's sad that he is likely moving on because he was a team leader within that organziation. I know some people feel that trait is over valued, but I think leadership is important on a championship team.
