After dropping the season opener to Yale on Sunday, the Huskies were back at Hec Ed to get into the win column on Thursday night against Cal State Fullerton.
The starting lineup mirrored the season opener which included:
Both team were shooting lights out in the opening minutes with Fullerton's Tre' Coggins knocking down 6 straight field goals in 7 minutes, 5 of which were from downtown.
Markelle Fultz showed some tremendous athleticism by chasing down a fastbreak slam and pinning the ball against the glass in the nic of time. Moments later he buried a three from the top of the arc.
Sam Timmins struggled on a handful of offensive possessions mis-reading his teammates with entry passes thus causing turnovers.
UW took a double digit lead to the locker room 53-42 where they shot 62% from the field and outrebounded the Titans 20 to 5.
Fultz finished a pair of nifty up-and-unders at the cup with heavy duress really showcasing his finishing ability.
Unlike the Yale game, Washington felt much more in control despite the Titans hanging around withing striking distance in the second half.
David Crisp put together a nice night connecting from long distance 5/9 attempts for 17 points.
Markelle stole the show in the 2nd half with two monster jams the second of which came off a steal. The freshman phemon finished the ballgame with 35 points on 10/14 from the field and 6 assists.
