The Huskies will play five games over three days, opening with an 11:00 a.m. matchup against the UTEP Miners (6-11) on Friday. Later on Friday, the Huskies will face the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners (2-13) at 1:15 p.m.

The Huskies will face the San Jose Spartans (10-5) for the second time this season on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The Huskies defeated the Spartans 18-1, on February 14 at the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, Ariz. The Huskies will play the host Pacific Tigers (3-8) in the second game of their doubleheader on Saturday, with first pitch schedule for 12:15 p.m.

The Huskies wrap up the tournament on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with a second game against the Miners.

·      Washington head coach Heather Tarr earned her Masters Degree in Education from Pacific in 2003. Tarr spent six seasons as an assistant on the coaching staff of the Pacific softball team before being named the head coach at her alma mater Washington on July 6, 2004.

·      The Huskies are now ranked No. 7 in both the USA Today/NFCA poll and Softball poll.

·      The Huskies went 3-2 at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. last weekend. The Huskies opened the tournament on Thursday with an 11-0 win over Maryland before falling to then-No. 23 LSU, 6-3. On Friday, the Huskies defeated then-No. 25 Texas, 3-2, and lost to Northwestern later in the day by a final score of 4-2. The Huskies wrapped up the tournament with an 8-0 win over BYU on Saturday.

·       The Huskies have had two players receive national player of the week honors already this season. Junior infielder Kylee Lahners was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week on Feb. 11, and senior pitcher Bryana Walker was named Lousiville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week on Feb. 18.

·       Former Husky infielder Ashley Charters announced her retirement from the Fastpitch softball on February 11. Charters, a three-time All-American at Washington from 2005-2009, played an integral role on the 2009 National Championship team. Charters also played on the Huskies 2007 team that advanced to the WCWS. A native of Beaverton, Oregon, Charters holds the Huskies all-time record for stolen bases with 133. After her playing career at Washington, Charters went on to play in the National Pro Fastpitch league, garnering 2013 NPF Defensive Player of the Year honors, as a member of the USSSA Pride. The Pride, coached by Huskies assistant coach J.T. D’Amico, won the 2013 NPF Championship.

·      The Huskies open their home schedule Friday, March 14 against Pac-12 foe Utah at 5:00 p.m. at Husky Softball Stadium. Promotions include "Softball Friday Night Under the Lights" and Professor Appreciation night, where professors with an invite gain free admission, and faculty and staff tickets are just $3. 

·      New this year to Husky Softball is the Team of the Game promotion. Youth softball team with players currently in 8th grade and under, plus two coaches, will receive free General Admission tickets, be on the field with the Huskies for the national anthem, and receive an autographed team poster, as well as a group welcome during the game.
