RENTON - WR Percy Harvin watch will continue another week.

Head coach Pete Carroll said Saturday that Harvin will not play Monday night against the St. Louis Rams. Harvin is still working his way back from hip surgery on August 1. He returned to practice for the first time since June this week but isn't ready yet for game action.

"We’re managing his rehabilitation and trying to do it really right," Carroll said. "We worked him hard and then we rested him and we’ll continue to do that until his conditioning is caught up and he’s ready to go."

Harvin hasn't played in nearly a full calendar year. He suffered an ankle injury against the Seahawks last November and was lost for the season. After being acquired by Seattle in March, Harvin was extremely limited in offseason work as well as the hip injury was continually an issue.

It's been a long time since Harvin has played football and it will still take some more time for Harvin to get up to speed.

"He did fine. He looked great when we were working him and then we needed to rest him and make sure that he could handle the workload," Carroll said. "He’s a hard charger. He’s not going to sit back and when he goes, he goes. We have to make sure that we manage that really well. We’re totally pleased with how he’s worked to get back, and as soon as we could do it we will, but when it’s right."

While Harvin won't be able to play, LB Bobby Wagner will.

Carroll said Wagner is expected to play against the Rams after fully participating in practice the last two days.

Wagner missed the last two games after suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Indianapolis Colts.

"He made it through and he’s going to play in the game - unless something happens between now and then - but he practiced well enough to be ready to go in a football game," Carroll said.

Carroll wouldn't commit to Wagner starting until they see him in pregame workouts on Monday.

WR Golden Tate will play after dealing with a sore shoulder this week. RB Christine Michael will also be available after missing Friday's practice with an illness.
