RENTON - The Seattle Seahawks know they won't have T Russell Okung for this Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The positive? They're playing the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Okung has been ruled out for this week's game and he is currently away from the team seeking a second opinion on his injured toe. Okung suffered the injury on the final play of the first quarter against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

With Okung out, head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that G/T Paul McQuistan would get the start at left tackle. McQuistan had started the first two games of the season at left guard but had been rotating with G James Carpenter. McQuistan replaced Okung and played at left tackle for the remainder of the game against the 49ers.

"We'll look forward to him getting more comfortable at the spot with the work he has this week," Carroll said.

Carroll said T Alvin Bailey and T Michael Bowie would be available to backup McQuistan at tackle. Both Bailey (ankle) and Bowie (shoulder) had been dealing with minor injuries at the conclusion of the preseason and were inactive for the first two games. Carroll added that they want to see Bailey and Bowie play and will look to ge them opportunities.

"That's the best way to bring guys up," Carroll said. "They can watch all they want but they've got to get out there and play."
