RENTON - If you listen to Pete Carroll's words on Friday, it certainly doesn't appear as though LB Bobby Wagner will be able to play this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Carroll went about far as you can possibly go to indicate that Wagner wouldn't be able to play without completely ruling him out. Wagner is officially listed as doubtful to play Sunday. Realistically, that may even be a bit of a stretch.

"(He's) got an outside chance, if you're really optimistic," Carroll said after practice.

LB K.J. Wright would start in place of Wagner at middle linebacker with LB Malcom Smith assuming Wright's duties on the weakside.

While Wagner appears highly unlikely to play, the Seahawks will see the return of C Max Unger to the lineup.

Unger fully participated in practice all week and Carroll said he's ready to go after missing the last two games with a triceps strain.

Carroll believes Unger can provide a steadying presence along an offensive line that has struggled the last two games.

"He's a tremendous captain out there on the field for all of identification, all of the signals, all of the stuff we need," Carroll said. "Great awareness to help the other guys. He helps people around him to play better and that's a big factor and it's obvious when he's out there."

Carroll said TE Zach Miller has a chance to play as well. Though he didn't practice, Carroll said Miller has improved throughout the week and will be a game-time decision.

"Zach is really close," Carroll said. "Zach ran very well this week. We rested him today. He's got a chance."

RB Marshawn Lynch didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable with a hip injury but Carroll said Lynch is fine and expected to play. WR Sidney Rice was also held out of Friday's practice with a knee issue but will play against the Titans.

RB Spencer Ware was ruled out for the fourth straight week with a high-ankle sprain. T Breno Giacomini is also officially out after having surgery on his injured knee last week.
