Western Conference Finals,

First Leg at CenturyLink Field:

Seattle Sounders 2, Colorado Rapids 1

With the Seattle Sounders looking to make their first MLS Cup in club history, the team kicked off in their third trip to the Western Conference Finals Tuesday night in Seattle. The Sounders could not make it past the Conference Finals in 2012 and 2014, losing both rounds to the Los Angeles Galaxy.

In 2016, however, the Galaxy were eliminated from the playoffs by the Colorado Rapids in the Conference Semifinals. The Rapids marched into Seattle for Tuesday's first leg and scored an early goal before the Sounders fought back, scoring twice.

The MLS Rookie of the Year, Jordan Morris, and Newcomer of the Year, Nicolas Lodeiro, scored each of Seattle's goals to net the win and take a narrow aggregate lead into the second leg, Sunday in Colorado.
