GLENDALE, Ariz. – Jesus Montero homered twice and drove in three runs, Stefen Romero doubled, homered and drive in a pair of runs and Justin Smoak hit a two-run, go-ahead homer as Seattle pounded out an 8-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Camelback Ranch.

The Mariners improved to 9-3 in Cactus League play. The win gave Seattle a split-squad double-header sweep on Saturday; earlier in the day, Seattle defeated San Francisco 18-3 in Scottsdale.

Starting pitcher Blake Beavan (1-0, 2.25) earned the win in his third spring start. Beavan allowed 3 runs (1 earned run) in 3.0 innings. All three runs scored in the bottom of the first, as a pair of errors led to two un-earned runs.

Seattle tied the game at 3-3 in the second inning with back-to-back homers from Jesus Montero (#1, a two-run shot to right field) and Stefen Romero (#1, to left field). Romero later added an RBI double, and threw out the speedy Dee Gordon at the plate to end the fifth inning. Montero added his second homer of the game, a solo shot, to lead off the 8th inning.

Justin Smoak hit a two-run homer (#1) in the third to give Seattle a 5-3 lead. Smoak finished with a pair of walks and two runs scored in addition to the two RBI.

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to 4-5-2, as right-hander Josh Beckett (0-1) absorbed the loss.

In the first game of their split-squad, day-night doubleheader Brad Miller and Michael Saunders each hit two-run home runs in the first inning and starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez tossed 4.0 scoreless innings to jump-start the Seattle Mariners to a 18-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants Saturday afternoon at Scottsdale Stadium.
