In addition to his goal, Mueller drew the lone assist on Leedahl’s score for his second consecutive multi-point effort.  Manraj Hayer and Kevin Davis also added assists while Lotz (21-18-3-1) stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced in net and was just 63 seconds shy of posting a shutout for Everett.  The Silvertips allowed only 11 shots through two periods and outshot Seattle 28-18 in total.

The Silvertips got on the board early in the first for the only goal of the period. Mirco Mueller sent a long stretch pass up the left wing for Dawson Leedahl, whose shot to the near post beat goaltender Taran Kozun to make it 1-0 at 1:41.  Everett created a few chances to increase the lead throughout the period, but went to the locker room up 1-0 and holding a 9-5 edge in shots through the first 20 minutes.

A spirited second period saw all of the game’s four powerplays, three of which went to the ‘Tips, but the score remained unchanged heading into the final frame. Everett outshot the Thunderbirds 10-6 in the middle frame to maintain a 19-11 advantage on the shot clock after two.

With the intensity steadily increasing throughout the third period, the Silvertips doubled their lead at 10:45 as Mueller’s low shot from the left boards made its way through traffic and beat Kozun on the far side.  Austin Lotz kept Seattle off the board a few minutes later, diving to make a desperation glove save on a wide-open Alexander Delnov in front.  The T-Birds pulled the goaltender in the final minutes and ended the shutout bid for Lotz when Justin Hickman redirected a shot from the blue line into the net with 1:03 left to play.  The ‘Tips then held off Seattle’s final push until the buzzer sounded to seal the 2-1 victory.

Goaltender Taran Kozun (16-23-2-1) turned away 26 shots in net for Seattle in 58 minutes.  Everett went 0 for 3 on the powerplay and denied Seattle on their lone abbreviated opportunity.
